Teaming Up for the Cure™

The Komen Grand Rapids Race for the Cure® invites you and your family, friends and co-workers to join together in the battle against breast cancer. By Teaming Up for the Cure™ you can help us raise both money and awareness. A team is a group of 12 or more people who want to participate in the Race. This group may consist of friends, family co-workers, church and civic groups, students, children or any combination thereof. Both men and women can participate in any of our events - the 5K Run/Walk or the 1 Mile Community Walk. There is no limit to the number of members you can have on your team. Team members may complete the course at their own pace, everyone does not have to run or walk together as individuals all have different paces.

Teams are encouraged to carry signs or banners with your team logo proudly displayed. Some teams have specially designed T-shirts that they wear as well. Prizes are awarded to teams in the following categories: Largest, Best Team Logo, Most Survivors, Greatest Age Range, Most Spirited.

Team members can help each other raise pledge money. Teams can hold events through out the year to raise money such as bake sales, auctions or charging a fee for a casual dress day at work. There are great prizes for the top three teams that raise the most pledge money.
