Race For The Cure ®

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure® Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. These events celebrate breast cancer survivorship and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease. The largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, the Komen Cure® Series has grown from one local Race with 800 participants in Dallas, Texas, in 1983 to a series of more than 113 Races this year. At each Race event, breast cancer survivors in pink caps and pink T-shirts are celebrated and honored for their strength and courage.

Funds raised during the Komen Cure® Series support the Foundation's mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Up to 75 percent of the net income from each Race stays in the community to fund local breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects. A minimum of 25 percent of the net income from each Race supports the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
