2005 Lee National Denim Day Spokesperson Team

The 10-year anniversary of Lee National Denim Day will be proudly represented by the two most celebrated men on the hottest show on television: Ricardo Antonio Chavira and James Denton of "Desperate Housewives."

This pair brings with them more than throngs of adoring fans. They also share a passion for the cause that only a strong breast cancer connection can bring: each man lost his mother to breast cancer.

Chavira's mother died when he was a teenager while Denton's mother died just two years ago. While their experiences with the disease are different, the pain breast cancer inflicted upon their families is the same. They hope to spread the important messages of education and early detection so their unfortunate losses might be prevented for future sons and daughters.

Additionally, as male spokespeople, Chavira and Denton hope to increase recognition of the important role men play as co-survivors - encouraging breast health and assisting a spouse, partner, mother, sister or friend in their fight against the disease.

Lee National Denim Day is a day on which participating companies let employees wear denim to work in exchange for a $5 contribution to the Komen Foundation. It costs participating companies nothing and is an extraordinary opportunity to promote breast health and breast cancer awareness in the workplace.

Breast cancer in the leading cancer site among American women and is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths. One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2.5 minutes. Lee National Denim Day is a way to fight breast cancer by raising funds to help find a cure and raise awareness of the importance of early detection.

As the nation's number one jeans brand for women, Lee is focused on addressing real needs and issues in women's lives.
